Mountain Biking Armidale & the New England High Country
Armidale and the New England High Country have some of the best tracks in Australia, with self guided information available at New England Mountain Bike Club www.nemtb.com.au, or expert advice from New England Bike Tours. Our favourite tracks are the Piney and Fat Tyre Farm, Robbers Run, and the UNE track.
Pineys Armidale
Pineys is host to Armidale’s annual “12 hours in the Piney” bike race, and are maintained by the New England Mountain Bike Club. The Pineys are the perfect place to bring people of all skill levels, with A & B lines at each feature. The Pineys are located on Rockvale Rd, just a few kilometres north of Armidale.
Fat Tyre Farm on the New England Highway
The Fat Tyre Farm is located north of Armidale on the New England Highway, with the entrance located just south of the end of Robbers Run. This is a great adventure ride for those that want to get out and do some real bush rides.
Robber Run – Black Mountain
Robbers Run is located north of Armidale on the New England highway, with the beginning of the trail near Thunderbolts cave. Robbers run is a downhill track and you’ll need to bring a shuttle. Once you get to the bottom of the Robbers Run, you can continue south to Fat Tyre Farm.
UNE mtn bike track Armidale
Located at the University of New England Sports Centre, UNE mtn bike track has a full size pool, large fitness centre and cafe all close by. The track has recently been refurbished with more features.
